Phil Smith Cbe

Phil Smith CBE is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in various non-executive and chairman roles. Currently serving as Chair of Skills England since February 2025, Phil also holds positions as Chairman of AppyWay and Streeva, along with mentorship at Criticaleye. Board Member for the Development Board at the National Theatre since March 2018, Phil previously chaired IQE until December 2024 and TechSkills.org until September 2022. Additional past roles include Board Member at UKCloud Ltd and advisor at Lloyd's Register. Phil earned a BSc Hons in Microbiology from the University of Glasgow from 1974 to 1979.
