Wayne Ackerson

Wayne Ackerson has a comprehensive work experience in the telecommunications industry spanning over 27 years. Wayne began their career at BellSouth Telecommunications as an Electronic Technician, where they were responsible for monitoring and maintaining the telecommunications infrastructure. Wayne then worked at BellSouth Business Systems as a Multimedia Technician, providing technical support for LAN/WAN service transports. Wayne later became a Network Engineer, managing a team and developing policies and procedures for BellSouth's data network.

After their time at BellSouth, Wayne joined AT&T as a Broadband Communication Specialist and later transitioned to a Network Engineer role. Their responsibilities at AT&T included tier III technical support, testing, provisioning, and maintaining various network architectures, such as Ethernet, ATM, Token Ring, and SONET. Wayne also worked with sales and marketing teams to engineer Metro Ethernet networks.

Wayne then joined Broadvox/Fusion as a Network Engineer, specializing in Layer 3 core network design and implementation using BGP, MPLS, and OSPF. Wayne eventually became the Director of Network Engineering, leading a team in the US and Ukraine. Their duties included supporting a Layer 3 VOIP network, designing and implementing strategic collocation moves, and providing a network engineering roadmap for future goals.

Most recently, Wayne joined APS Solutions as a Senior Account Manager, leveraging their extensive industry knowledge and experience to manage key accounts.

Wayne Ackerson obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute between 1992 and 1994.
