Jane Lebkowski

Jane Lebkowski is currently an advisor at APstem Therapeutics. Jane has over 25 years of experience in the cell and gene therapy field. Jane started their career in 1995 as a Vice President at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. Jane was responsible for managing research and product development activities to advance cell and gene-based therapies in the areas of cancer and infectious diseases.

In their role at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Jane directly managed research and product development of cell separation devices for ex vivo manipulation of cell-based therapies for autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Jane also directed viral and nonviral gene therapy vector development used for clinical trials of p53 gene therapy for head and neck cancer and aFGF in peripheral artery disease. In addition, Jane supervised formulations and delivery methodologies for cell and gene therapies, and managed preclinical development of cell and gene therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.

Jane has also been responsible for device engineering for cell separation devices, and participated in multidisciplinary project teams to advance cellular immune-based therapies through pivotal phase 3 clinical trials and gene therapy products to phase 1 clinical trials. In their most recent role at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Jane managed a team of over 150 employees, and was responsible for portfolio planning, program operations, and budgetary management for discovery research and product development functions.

Jane Lebkowski's educational career started at St Margaret's before they went to Bishop Grimes HS. Then, they attended Syracuse University for their BS in Biology and Chemistry. After that, they pursued their PhD in Biochemistry at Princeton University.
