Joy Hazucha has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Joy co-founded Spades SBC in 2019, where they serve as the Chief People Officer, working towards the mission of regrowing 25 billion trees annually. Prior to their role at Spades, Joy worked at APTMetrics as a Director of Assessment and Research starting in 2017. From 2015 to 2018, they held various positions at Cheetah Development, including Director of the Board of Directors, SVP of People, Culture, and Growth, and VP of Operations at Reservoir Tanzania, Ltd. Joy also served as a Board Member and Vice Chair at Dreams InDeed since 2015. Before that, Joy worked at Korn Ferry as the Global VP of KF Institute and at PDI Ninth House in multiple leadership positions focused on research, analytics, and assessment. Additionally, they served as a Board Member of ePredix and as the Director of Consulting in Europe for Personnel Decisions International. Across their career, Joy has demonstrated a passion for social impact, strategic leadership, and research.
Joy Hazucha earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a double major in Biblical Studies, from Wheaton College in 1981. Joy then went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1991. Joy has also obtained additional certifications, including Impact Measurement & Management for the SDGs from Duke University, Agroforestry - Designing for Impact from ECHO International Inc, and various language fluency levels.
