David Baum

For nearly 25 years, Aptos and its predecessor companies have benefited from the sage legal counsel of David Baum. Currently serving as Aptos’ Chief Legal Officer, David has played a key role in major milestones throughout Aptos’ remarkable journey to-date. He also serves as Aptos’ Interim Chief People Officer.

Beyond supporting the company’s diverse business interests, David is responsible for all legal affairs which include providing legal and strategic advice to the executive team; drafting and negotiation of contracts; intellectual property protection; mergers and acquisitions; counsel relative to employment law; management of regulatory compliance; implementing risk management processes; and addressing general corporate and commercial matters.

Based in Montreal, and licensed and admitted to practice in New York State and the Province Quebec, David has vast software and technology industry expertise, with particular specializations in software licensing, cloud, data security, PCI-DSS/PA-DSS and privacy.
