Mark Owen

Mark Owen currently serves as the Co Head of Sixth Form and teacher of Sociology at St Bartholomew's School in Newbury, where responsibilities include leading the UCL Holocaust Education Beacon Programme. With extensive experience at AQA as a Team Leader and Examiner for Paper 2 in Sociology, Mark has previously held positions at New College Swindon as Assistant Curriculum Manager and lecturer in Sociology and Criminology, and at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College as a Sociology lecturer during a PGCE placement. Academic achievements include a Master’s degree in Holocaust Studies from Royal Holloway, a UCL qualification in Holocaust Education, and a BSc in Sociology from the University of Portsmouth, complemented by further studies in education leadership at Best Practice Network.
