Stephen Simpson currently serves as the Head of Design at Aqualand Australia since October 2025 and is a Casual Lecturer in Environmental Building Design at Western Sydney University. Prior to these roles, Stephen held the position of Design Director at Mulpha International from July 2023 until October 2025 and acted as Chairperson of the Materials & Embodied Carbon Leaders’ Alliance working group on Engineered Timber from January 2023 to June 2025. Stephen's extensive experience includes serving as the Manager of Project Design Management for Office & Mixed Use at Mirvac and as Regional Manager of Design Projects at Scentre Group from December 1996 to July 2016. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Technology Sydney, obtained between 1989 and 1995.
