John Varan

John Varan has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John started their career as a Systems Engineer at Emerson Process Management, where they designed and implemented control systems for various industries. John then worked at Dell as a Software Developer, Senior Software Developer, and Software Development Lead, where they developed web applications and managed global deployments.

After Dell, John joined Allied Consultants, Inc. as a Developer and later as a Project Lead/Architect, where they designed and wrote custom applications for car dealership licensing and government relationships. John also worked at Allied Consultants, Inc. on a project for My Plates, designing and developing a custom web site for selling customized license plates.

John also worked at 3M as a Senior Software Developer, debugging and enhancing software for car dealership applications and licensing. John then joined Newgistics as a Senior Software Developer, where they debugged and wrote enhancements for warehouse and shipping software.

John also gained experience as a Director of Technology at kiwiAustin Interactive Media Group, providing technical solutions to small businesses for web and social media presence. John also worked as a Head Instructor at Hidden Dragon Martial Arts.

In addition to their professional work, John has also done freelancing as a Freelance Writer and worked as a Senior Developer at Aquilan Technologies.

John Varan completed their high school education at Georgetown High School from 1986 to 1990. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, and they graduated from there in 1995. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications, including EIM (Ethics in Ministry) from the Catholic Diocese of Austin in June 2012, and certifications in ASP.NET, C#, and RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) from Brainbench in 2008.
