Derek Sonnenberg has a diverse work experience. Derek began their career as a General Laborer at Sonnenberg Fur Farm in 2008 and worked there for nine years. In 2017, they transitioned to BTD Manufacturing as a Production Operator for a few months. In 2018, they co-founded an indie design and development studio called Pixel Pajama Studios, where they developed and published games and web apps. Additionally, they played a key role in establishing the studio's social media presence, community, and website. Currently, Derek is working as a Software Engineer at ar.io. In this role, they are involved in planning, designing, and collaboratively developing backend micro-services using Node and hosted on AWS infrastructure. Derek has successfully enhanced application performance, scalability, and played a part in acquiring an enterprise-level client. Derek has also developed various applications for the ArDrive ecosystem in TypeScript, including ArDrive-Core library, ArDrive-CLI, and ArDrive Price Calculator.

Derek Sonnenberg's education history begins with their completion of a High School Diploma from Detroit Lakes Senior High School in 2008. Afterward, they attended Minnesota State Community and Technical College from 2007 to 2009, focusing on Computer Network Security.
