Manuel Baltieri has a long and varied work experience. In 2006, they were an apprentice at Ferro Sport. In 2010, they were a Member of the Council Committee for youth policies at Comune di Illasi. In 2011, they were a Computer Lab/ Teaching Assistant at the “Giuseppe Cappelletti” Coop. Soc. a.r.l. – Onlus. In 2012, they were an Intern at Reactive Search Srl. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at the University of Sussex in various roles, including Visiting Researcher, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Teaching Fellow, Teaching Assistant, and Research Associate, where they conducted research on Approximate Bayesian Inference (variational free energy methods) with applications to control theory/robotics/neuroscience and worked on the links and extensions of deep learning techniques, especially Restricted Boltzmann Machines/ Helmholtz machines. In 2017, they were a Research Visitor at the Earth Life Science Institute (ELSI) for two months, where they worked on computational models of pre-biotic chemistries studying properties necessary for the formation of life as we know it and life as it could be. In 2019, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at RIKEN. Since 2021, they have been a Chief Researcher and Researcher at Araya Inc.

Manuel Baltieri has an extensive education history. Manuel obtained a High School degree from ITC Aldo Pasoli in 2009, majoring in Economics, IT, law, and maths. Manuel then proceeded to Università di Trento, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Information and Business Organisation Engineering in 2012. After that, they attended University of Sussex, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems in 2014, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Artificial Intelligence in 2019. Additionally, they have obtained an Associate Fellow certification from the Higher Education Academy in 2016, as well as an ECDL certification from AICA.
