Alan Ashley

Alan Ashley has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alan currently works at ARCAD Software as a Presales Consultant for DevOps on IBMi, where they support customers and Arcad sales representatives in finding suitable solutions for their DevOps needs. Additionally, they contribute to blog writing on the DevOps world around the IBM i.

Previously, Alan worked at IBM for a significant portion of their career. Alan held multiple roles, including being a Technical Presales Consultant for Cloud for IBMi, Power, and Services. In this role, they provided technical sales leadership and mentored sales representatives. Alan also developed a calculator to expedite pricing presentations. Alan later became the IBM i Team Leader, overseeing both regulated and non-regulated clients, with a focus on distribution, healthcare, and public sectors. Alan managed four federally regulated iSeries accounts for commercial customers. Prior to these positions, Alan worked as an IBMi-AS/400 System Administrator.

Outside of the IT industry, Alan also worked at PEARL iZUMi as a Pearl Izumi Brand Champion between 2014 and 2016.

Alan Ashley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from The University of Georgia. In addition to their academic education, they have obtained several certifications, including "Camtasia Quick Tips" from LinkedIn in July 2021, "USAV Impact Training" from USA Volleyball in May 2021, and "SafeSport Trained - Core" from the U.S. Center for SafeSport in April 2021. Furthermore, they have completed various courses and certifications related to cloud computing and IBM technologies, such as "Getting Started with Azure" from Coursera in July 2020, "AWS Fundamentals: Going Cloud-Native" from Coursera in June 2020, and multiple certifications from IBM, including "Cloud Core," "IoT - Overview of IBM Watson IoT Platform," "Systems Consultative Sales Foundation," "Watson and Cloud Foundations," "Watson Assistant Foundations," "Build Your Own Chatbot - Level 1," and "IBM Storage and Cloud Essentials."
