Andrew Bates, PhD, is a seasoned professional in civil engineering and risk management with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as a Senior Claims Analyst for Arcadis since March 2022, Andrew leads risk assessments for a range of capital projects. In addition, Andrew has been an Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering since 2009, specializing in Civil and Construction Engineering and Management, where teaching responsibilities include graduate-level Risk Analysis and various courses related to construction management. Previous roles include Project Manager and Airfield Design Chief for the United States Air Force, overseeing large-scale construction projects, and serving in leadership positions at Group PMX, TDIndustries, Inc., and Wm Blanchard Co. with a focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced construction technology. Andrew holds a PhD in Civil Engineering/Construction Management from New York University and has an academic background that includes an MS from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BS from the United States Air Force Academy.
