Derek Millar is an experienced civil infrastructure professional with a comprehensive background in project management and leadership, currently serving as Business Leader for Civil Infrastructure QLD and Highways & Structures at Arcadis since January 2015. Previously held the position of Business Leader at Hyder Consulting and has extensive experience with Lend Lease, where roles included Pre-Contracts Manager and Design Engineering Manager, overseeing projects such as the Moreton Bay Rail Link and SEQ Asset Management contracts. Derek has also worked in major projects with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and managed significant infrastructure initiatives for SANRAL Ltd. and LTA Rand Roads. Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil) from Durban and began education at Gifford High School in Zimbabwe.
