Mara Bender is currently a master's student in urban planning at the Université de Montréal and serves as a research and teaching assistant, focusing on the inclusion of immigrant seniors in the Montreal metropolitan area. Previously, Mara worked as an urban planning intern at Arcadis in Ottawa, where the primary interests included housing and climate/community resilience. Before this role, Mara held various positions in proposal coordination at IBI Group and R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited. Mara also engaged in the Mobility Network Summer School at the University of Toronto, emphasizing urban mobility amidst climate emergency. In 2018, Mara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and English Literature from McGill University.
