Ahmed KHELASSI is an experienced professional in the field of research and development, currently serving as the Head of R&D Department & Process Digitalisation at ArcelorMittal since September 2011. In this role, KHELASSI oversees multiple projects related to hot strip mill activities, cold plants, electrical steel, and decarbonation efforts, while also acting as the digital officer for the ArcelorMittal R&D Maizieres process centre. KHELASSI previously held positions as R&D Team Leader and Research Engineer, focusing on process control and automation in metal processing. With a Ph.D. in Automatic Control and Signal Processing from Université de Lorraine, KHELASSI has contributed to several international publications and held an assistant professor role at Université Henri Poincaré. Prior internships involved work on fault diagnosis and robust control systems, further enhancing expertise in control engineering, fault-tolerant control, and dynamic systems.
