Mathieu Cottin

Responsable Technique (process + Opérationnel) at ArcelorMittal

Mathieu Cottin has over 15 years of experience in the steel industry, primarily with ArcelorMittal since September 2008. In the role of Pilote exploitation, Mathieu has led various investment projects focused on decarbonization, including significant initiatives such as the Projet Four Poche at 76 M€ and the Projet Slag-stopper at 3.5 M€. As Responsable Technique since January 2018, Mathieu oversees the secondary metallurgy workshop, ensuring reliability, performance, and quality while managing a team of technicians. Previous roles include Responsable Bureau Matières, where Mathieu defined raw material needs and procurement strategies, and Ingénieur Process, where improvements in process management were implemented. Before ArcelorMittal, Mathieu contributed to academia as an industrial instructor at Ecole des Mines d'Alès and served as Responsable Applications Clients at GPC System, focusing on innovative industrial process control solutions. Mathieu holds an engineering degree in Productique from Ecole des Mines d'Alès.
