Poorvi Acharya

Poorvi Acharya has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering, data science, and research. Currently, they are working as a Senior Software Engineer at Arch Systems. In their previous role at Rune Labs, Poorvi designed and implemented a highly reliable data pipeline that processed large amounts of Protected Health Information (PHI) using Go and Python, utilizing AWS infrastructure. Poorvi also worked as a Machine Translation Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology, where they developed neural machine translation strategies for Indian languages and implemented an interpretable MT framework. Additionally, Poorvi worked as a Data Science Consultant at PROSPERATA and a Junior Data Scientist at Whirlpool Corporation. Poorvi gained research experience as an NLP Research Assistant at UC Berkeley College of Engineering and performed internships as a Full Stack Developer at DesignMind and a Big Data Intern at DesignMind. Poorvi also worked as an IoT Intern at Itron, Inc. and served as a Lab TA at UC Berkeley College of Engineering.

Poorvi Acharya obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, which they attended from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Escondido High School from 2011 to 2015. In 2022, Poorvi Acharya obtained a Security Awareness Certificate from Accountable HQ.
