Jongyeob Shin

Jongyeob Shin is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in flight control systems and engineering roles across various prestigious organizations. Currently serving as Principal GNC Engineer at Archer since June 2021, Jongyeob has previously held the position of Principal Engineer at Aerion Supersonic, focusing on defining flight control law functions and implementing flight envelope protection mechanisms. Prior to that, Jongyeob contributed as a Principal Engineer at Gulfstream Aerospace, specializing in automated flight control system (AFCS) design and control law enhancements. Earlier career roles include work as a Senior Staff Scientist at the National Institute of Aerospace, where research centered on NASA's aviation safety program, as well as roles at NASA Langley Research Center. Jongyeob holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and has an undergraduate degree from Seoul National University.
