Matt Deal

Matt Deal serves as the Flight Test Lead at Archer, an aerospace company focused on developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to enhance urban mobility, since January 2020. Previously, Matt held the position of Head of Flight Test at A³ by Airbus from November 2018 to January 2020 and was a Vahana Integration and Flight Test Engineer at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. from April 2009 to November 2018, where responsibilities included test conduction and integration for Project Vahana. Matt's engineering expertise encompasses unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) integration into the National Airspace System, involving air traffic data analysis, software development for traffic simulation, and systems engineering support for UAS safety case development. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, along with specialized training from the National Test Pilot School and Leadership Fairfax, Inc.
