Richard J.

Richard J. is a highly experienced engineer with a robust background in controls and autonomous systems. Currently serving as a Controls Staff Engineer at Archer since April 2024, Richard previously held the position of Engineering Manager at Apple from July 2017 to April 2024, leading a team of control engineers focused on software and algorithm development for complex electro-mechanical systems. Prior to Apple, Richard worked at Bose Corporation for over a decade in various roles, contributing to active sound management and suspension systems, and received the Bose President’s Award in 2012. Richard's earlier experience includes research at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and a role as Chief Chassis Engineer for the MIT Motorsports team, alongside academic credentials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Richard earned both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering.
