Sean McCarrell

Sean McCarrell has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Sean started their career as a Teacher at Mission Viejo Christian Church Kids Club in 2013. Sean then worked as an IT Intern at Donahue Schriber, where they created network diagrams, normalized phone numbers, and organized a Knowledge Base using technical skills in SharePoint. While studying at Biola University, Sean also participated as a Division 1 Baseball Athlete, honing their baseball skills, leadership strategies, and communication abilities.

After graduating, Sean joined Saddleback Church as a Web and App Development Intern, gaining hands-on experience in web and app development. Sean then joined Download Youth Ministry as a Business Intelligence Consultant, where they worked closely with the VP of Operations to analyze data, build an interactive dashboard, and assist in budgeting and product analysis.

Sean then moved to Advantage Solutions: Sales, Marketing, Technology, where they took on the roles of Business Intelligence Engineer and subsequently Business Intelligence Engineer II. In these roles, they designed internal QlikView dashboards, migrated data from SharePoint to SSMS database tables, wrote SSIS packages for data transformation, and provided analysis and troubleshooting for complex data issues.

In 2022, Sean joined Keyrus as a Data Technology Consultant. In this role, they built and delivered a complex Profit Margin analysis for a global supplier of premium label solutions. Sean transformed data sources, wrote SQL code, built an intelligent data model, and designed a Qlikview dashboard to ensure data quality and integrity. Sean worked closely with the Margin Executive to identify and compare potential business segment changes and provide insights to increase margins for customers.

Currently, Sean is employed as a Consultant - Data Engineer at Archetype Consulting.

Sean McCarrell holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with minors in Business Administration and Biblical Studies from Biola University, which they completed between 2013 and 2017. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications in Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022 and MTA: Database from Microsoft in October 2017.
