Michael Cotton

Michael Cotton has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michael currently holds the role of Senior Director at Archimedes Global Inc, starting in 2022. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2021, they worked at U.S. Central Command as the Division & Branch Chief, responsible for overseeing Irregular Warfare, Sensitive Special Operations, and Sensitive Activities.

From 2015 to 2019, they served as a Team Lead / Operations Officer at Joint Special Operations Command, where they led a cross-functional team and played a key role in counter WMD operations. Before that, from 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Section Leader at the United States Department of Defense-Joint Interagency Task Force, focusing on WMD intelligence analysis.

In 2011, Cotton was a Joint Planner at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, providing Counter WMD planning support, and from 2010 to 2011, they served as the Chief of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Concepts and Doctrine, developing policies and procedures for Army EOD.

Their career in the military began in 1998 when they joined the Air Force Special Operations Command as a Crew Chief. Michael later transitioned to the US Army, where they held various roles, including Ordnance Officer from 2001 to 2004 and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer from 2005 to 2010.

Michael Cotton completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Stephen F. Austin State University from 1998 to 2000. Michael then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security with a focus on Emergency Management and Crisis Preparedness at Texas A&M University from 2008 to 2011. In 2014 to 2015, they furthered their education at the National Intelligence University, where they obtained a Master of Science and Technology Intelligence degree, specializing in Weapons of Mass Destruction. Finally, they attended the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2018, earning a Nuclear Weapons Effects, Policy, and Proliferation Graduate Certificate (NWEPP).
