Aidan Hyde

Industrial Design Manager at Archimedic

As our Industrial Design Manager, Aidan leads the team in design for usability, interfaces, brand development, aesthetics, and more.

Aidan started his career as an industrial designer at US and international medical device corporations including Mindray North America, Maquet Cardiac Assist and Datascope Corp. where he worked with engineering and clinical teams to develop Cardiac assist, patient monitoring and surgical devices.

At Archimedic, Aidan’s responsibilities range from refining the details of a design to coordinating the collaborative efforts of specialized designers and engineers to bring products quickly and effectively to market; a process that starts with user research and product definition continuing through concept iteration, prototyping, formative and summative user testing and manufacturing.

Aidan’s enthusiasm for researching and understanding user’s needs, coupled with his passion for creating products that enhance the user’s experience, has propelled the design of numerous life-saving and life support products in the medical technology community. Some of his most notable projects include an at home use patient monitoring system for managing CHF, an Intra-aortic balloon pump for MAQUET and contributing as the lead industrial designer to the artificial womb project for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Aidan currently lives in Collingswood NJ with his wife and two children where he enjoys flower gardening, building tree forts and biking. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Industrial Design.
