Phil LeGrone

Director Product Strategy at Archipelago

Phil LeGrone has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Phil began their career in 1989 as an Assistant Vice President, New York Zone Property Consultant at Chubb, where they developed technical expertise in fire & wind engineering to become an internal consultant. In 2000, they joined RMS as a Senior Director, where they held a variety of roles including development of catastrophe models, technical marketing, product management, and product owner. In 2007, they moved to iCat as the Director, Technical Underwriting, where they served as the technical lead between underwriting and modeling groups to assist in Natural Catastrophe and All Risk risk management activities. In 2009, they returned to RMS as the Senior Director, Professional Services, where they worked with clients and prospects in the Property & Casualty Insurance arena to develop risk based solutions involving data, software, and related services. In 2018, they joined AAIS (American Association of Insurance Services) as the Vice President, Data & Actuarial Solutions, where they led the Data Engineering & Actuarial Services group and was responsible for data analytics and actuarial solutions for their ~700 Affiliates in the U.S. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Archipelago as the Director Product Strategy.

Phil LeGrone received a B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Florida between 1984 and 1988. In 2020, they obtained a Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence from the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). Phil also holds a Professional Engineer (PE), Fire Protection Engineering certification from the Alabama Board of Engineering and Land Surveyors, which they obtained in May 1994. In 2017, they began pursuing a Masters degree in Geographic Information Technology from Northeastern University, which they completed in 2020.
