Brian Hamilla has an extensive background in intellectual property law. Brian began their career as a Patent Examiner at the US Patent & Trademark Office in 1995. Brian later worked as a Patent Attorney at Framatome Connectors FCI and as an Associate at Hardaway Law Firm. In 2001, they joined Pratt & Whitney as an Assistant IP Counsel and later became the Deputy IP Counsel at Otis Elevator Company. Hamilla then worked as the Legal Director of the IP Licensing Group at United Technologies before joining Pratt & Whitney again as Deputy Counsel for Intellectual Property. Brian continued their career at Pratt & Whitney until 2019, when they became Counsel for Intellectual Property at Howmet Aerospace. In 2020, they were appointed as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Arconic Corporation.
Brian Hamilla has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. Brian also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Connecticut School of Business. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University. Additionally, they have certifications as an Attorney in several states, including the District of Columbia, South Carolina, Colorado, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Furthermore, they are a Private Pilot (ASEL, Instrument Rated) certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and a Registered Patent Attorney certified by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
