Davis Benz, PE is a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at ArcScan, Inc. since 2021. Prior to this, they were an Engineer II at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies from 2016 to 2021. During this role, they were the engineering design lead on the Rika Apheresis Platform and led the design and development of two electro-mechanical subsystems. Davis also designed and developed a pressure sensor that was critical for ensuring donor safety and a hardware subsystem and disposable subset that was critical for meeting the target disposable cost. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Graduate Research Student at the University of Colorado Boulder where they designed and developed a control system that mimicked the Fontan Procedure cardiac circulation and developed LabVIEW real-time and FPGA code. Davis also performed CFD and multiphysics analysis of cardiac flow in compliant vessels. From 2012 to 2013, they were an Undergraduate Research Student at the University of Colorado Department of Mechanical Engineering. Davis was an Electrical Engineering Intern at Moog Inc. in 2012 and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Electrochemical Energy Laboratory in 2011.
Davis Benz, PE obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers, and Professional Land Surveyors in January 2021. Davis also attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2014 and a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2016. Davis also attended Mullen from 2005 to 2009.
