Chris Hodgetts

Design Director - Hardgoods & Accessories at Arc'teryx

Chris Hodgetts has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Chris is currently working at Arc'teryx Equipment as the Design Director for Hardgoods & Accessories. Chris has been with the company since 2012, initially starting as a Designer and later transitioning to the role of Design Manager.

Before joining Arc'teryx Equipment, Chris Hodgetts owned their own design consultancy called Betathread design, which specialized in softgoods design, development, and prototyping. Chris'sconsultancy focused on the outdoor and action sports markets, and they worked with various clients such as Starfish Medical, Gregory Mountain products, and Fisher Price.

Prior to owning their consultancy, Chris Hodgetts worked at The Pharm design group as a Partner and Senior Designer. Chris also gained experience as a Hardgoods Designer at Mountain Equipment Co-op and as an Industrial Designer at Karo Group, Inc. Vancouver.

Chris Hodgetts started their career as a Design Intern at Mountain Equipment Co-op in 1998, where they gained hands-on experience in the design industry.

Throughout their career, Chris Hodgetts has gained expertise in various aspects of design, particularly in the outdoor and action sports markets.

Chris Hodgetts received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology from Dalhousie University, where they studied from 1994 to 1997. Chris then pursued a Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial and Product Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design from 1997 to 2000.
