Ty Pollak

Senior VP & Division Manager, Technology Programs at ARCTOS

Ty Pollak started their career in 1994 as a USAF Officer in the United States Air Force and served until 2014. In 2015, they joined Universal Technology Corporation, now known as ARCTOS, as a Senior Program Manager/Associate Director. In this role, they were responsible for technical strategy, business development, proposal activities, and the supervision of a team of 20 technical staff. During their time there, they led various projects and initiatives, resulting in three consecutive years of strong growth for the company's Materials and Manufacturing Division. In 2017, they became the Director of Research & Development, leading the additive manufacturing/3D printing business unit (3D Innovation Lab). Under their leadership, the team grew from 6 to 20+ members and successfully launched a commercial product line in metal AM. In 2019, they became the President of Open Additive LLC, a small business manufacturer of metal additive manufacturing systems and related products and services. Ty led the standup and spinout of the company from Universal Technology Co., securing $9M in government contracts and commercial sales orders. Currently, they hold the position of Senior VP & Division Manager, Technology Programs at ARCTOS.

Ty Pollak obtained a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2005. Ty also earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Systems Engineering from the same institute from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aero & Astro Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1990 to 1994. Additionally, Ty Pollak has obtained several certifications, including SPRDE-Systems Engineering, Level III from the Defense Acquisition University in April 2013, Life Cycle Logistics, Level I in June 2002, and Test & Evaluation, Level II in April 2001.
