Derek Barnhart

Derek Barnhart has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Derek is currently employed as an Area Business Director at Ardelyx, Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this, Derek worked at Avellino Lab as a Genetic Eyecare Consultant from May 2022 to November 2022, and as an Account Representative - Eyecare from August 2021 to May 2022. From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Territory Manager at Salix Pharmaceuticals. Before that, Derek worked as a Publishers Representative at Pearson from January 2019 to October 2019. In 2018, they were a Cardiovascular Sales Specialist at PDI, Inc. where they achieved exceptional sales results and won a sales contest. Derek started their pharmaceutical sales career at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in 2016, where they worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and received the Cresset Climber Award for highest overall sales increase in 2016. Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, they worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative at Quintiles, promoting products for Takeda. Derek began their professional career as an Executive Board Member of the Student Center Activities Board at Cedarville University, organizing campus events and leading a team. Derek also gained experience as an intern at Capitol Hill, handling legislative affairs and constituent affairs.
