William Bertrand

William Bertrand is a Board Member at Ardelyx. William was previously the EVP, GC at Infinity Pharmaceuticals and before that, the General Manager at Salix Pharmaceuticals (now a subsidiary of Valeant Pharmaceuticals). William was asked to take on the role of General Manager at Salix as part of the acquisition by Valeant and the integration of Salix into Valeant. William was responsible for commercial activities, including sales and marketing. William achieved all integration related activities ahead of schedule and budget and exceeded net sales and EBITDA goals in the first full quarter as a part of Valeant. William has also served as Acting COO and General Counsel at Salix Pharmaceuticals.

William Bertrand graduated from Hartland High School in the top 10 of their class. William then attended Wayne State University, where they received a BS in biology, journalism, and speech. Finally, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they received a Doctor of Law (JD) cum laude.
