Jonathon Smith

Jonathon Smith currently serves as a Principal and Research Analyst in European Liquid Credit at Ares Management Corporation since July 2023. Prior to this role, Jonathon was Vice President and Research Analyst in European Public Credit at HPS Investment Partners, LLC from December 2019 to April 2023. Jonathon began his career at Deutsche Bank, where responsibilities included roles as an Associate in Leveraged Finance and DCM Syndicate focused on Liability Management, as well as an Analyst in Debt Capital Markets. Earlier experience includes a Markets Summer Analyst position at Deutsche Bank and a Sales & Trading Intern role at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities. Jonathon holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Finance and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Accounting and Finance, both from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
