Jerud Hanson

Jerud Hanson has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Most recently, they served as the Vice President of Nuclear Solutions at ARES Security Corporation starting in July 2022. Prior to that, they founded and served as the CEO of USA Nuclear starting in October 2018.

From 2009 to 2018, Jerud worked at the Nuclear Energy Institute, where they held multiple roles. Jerud was a Senior Project Manager, leading nuclear energy strategies to sustain the nation's commercial nuclear power reactor industry. Additionally, they served as a Technical Advisor to the Chief Nuclear Officer, responsible for executing company vision and achieving cross-collaboration with utility customer and government executives. Jerud also worked as a Senior Project Manager, coordinating efforts between regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and the nuclear industry to establish policies and regulations impacting nuclear security.

Prior to their time at the Nuclear Energy Institute, Jerud worked at Southern California Edison (SCE) from 2002 to 2009. During their tenure, they held various roles, including Senior Technical Lead in Nuclear Security Safeguards & Compliance, Nuclear Safeguards and Security Supervisor, and Armed Nuclear Security Officer/Responder. Jerud demonstrated expertise in nuclear security regulations and guidance, as well as extensive knowledge of NRC regulations.

Jerud started their career in 1996 with the US Marine Corps, where they served as an Engineer until July 2000. Their responsibilities included various engineering duties.

Before their career in the nuclear industry, Jerud worked at Pala Casino Spa and Resort as a Guest Safety Shift Lead/Supervisor in 2001, overseeing the safety of customers and enforcing company policies.

Jerud Hanson completed a program in Nuclear Power Plant Safety for Utility Executives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017. In 2008, they obtained a Certificate in Project Management Professional from Caltech. Their education history also includes a Master's degree in Leadership & Organizational Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, also from Azusa Pacific University.
