Steve Young

Steve Young has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Steve started their career at GE as a Manager of Finance in 1979 and stayed with the company until 1991. Steve then joined Unisys as a Manager of Program Management Office and worked there until 1995. From 1995 to 2018, they held the position of Vice President at Hexagon US Federal. In 2009, they became a Certified Wine Judge for the American Wine Society and in 2015, they served as the Director for the Alabama Commercial Wine Competition. In 2018, they started their own consulting company called SHY Consulting and also worked as an Executive for a brief period before becoming the Business Development Executive at ARES Security Corporation in 2019.

Steve Young completed their high school education at Conestoga High School from 1973 to 1975. Steve then pursued a degree in Economics at Ursinus College from 1975 to 1979. After their formal education, Steve Young obtained multiple certifications in the field of wine, including being an Italian Wine Specialist with Distinction from the North American Sommelier Association in January 2017, a California Wine Appellation Specialist with Honors from the San Francisco Wine School in May 2016, and a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators in October 2015. Additionally, Steve Young achieved the highest honors as a French Wine Scholar from the French Wine Society in October 2014. Steve became a Certified Wine Judge from the American Wine Society in October 2013 and obtained a Wine & Spirit Education Trust Certified Level 2 with Distinction from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in June 2013.
