Alberto G. has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Alberto started their career in 2001 as a Systems Administrator in Astrasoft, where they also worked as a developer in a team. After that, they joined IBM Global Services as a Systems Administrator before moving to Caja Madrid, where they implemented and managed the first deployment of VMware virtual infrastructure in the bank.
In 2006, Alberto joined Ermestel, a VMware partner, where they played various roles such as a technical engineer, consultant, manager of support, and developer. Alberto worked on numerous virtualization projects and analyzed various products in the virtualization ecosystem for customers.
In 2010, Alberto became the CTO of VirtualSharp Software, a startup, where they were responsible for product, engineering, support, and development. Alberto hired developers, designed and architected the application, and played multiple roles due to the small team size.
Alberto then joined PHD Virtual Technologies in 2013 as the Director of Research & Development. Alberto later joined Unitrends in 2014 when they acquired PHD Virtual and took on the role of Director of Research & Development. Here, they managed the development of the ReliableDR product and integrated it into Unitrends Backup to create a unified solution for Backup and Recovery Assurance.
Currently, Alberto serves as the Co-founder & CTO of Arexdata since 2019, where they continue to utilize their expertise in technology and development.
Alberto G. has a B.S. in Computer Science from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional and MCSA: Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft. Moreover, they have pursued certifications like VMware Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) and VMware Certified Professional 6 - Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) from VMware.
