Matt Steffek

Matt Steffek has over 17 years of experience in the tax industry. Matt is currently working as the Head of Group Tax at Argo Group since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Tax Manager at Argo Group from September 2018 to April 2023. Before joining Argo Group, they were the Manager - Income Tax at Andeavor from March 2014 to September 2018. Matt also worked as the Lead Tax Specialist at Valero Energy Corporation from August 2008 to March 2014, and as the Senior Tax Accountant at iHeartMedia from February 2005 to August 2008.

Matt Steffek holds a Masters of Accounting degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio, which they earned from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting at Texas State University from 2001 to 2004. Before their undergraduate studies, they attended Lyndon B. Johnson High School - Science Academy from 1997 to 2001, and St. Louis Catholic School from 1989 to 1997. Matt also possesses the certification of Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
