Jason May has worked in various roles in the data science and analytics field since 2010. In 2010, they started as a Development Executive at Story and Film. In 2012, they created and owned Pro Football Hot Reads, a website aggregating next level NFL analysis with daily written content. In 2015, they became an Analyst at the Sydney Blue Sox, where they built a statistical database for the Australian Baseball League team and used R to scrape league websites and compile running statistics. In 2016, they joined Petro.ai as a Data Scientist, where they built predictive models using techniques such as Linear Regression, Random Forest, and Neural Networks. In 2020, they joined Maximus as a Data Scientist (AI/ML) - Team Tech Lead, where they led a team of Data Scientists providing Machine Learning as a Service, developed a strategy and vision for building and deploying multiple models, and evolved an entity matching resolution model. In 2022, they joined Arkestro as a Data Scientist, where they work on the only predictive procurement orchestration platform built to keep businesses ahead of the market.
Jason May obtained their Bachelor of Arts in English from Washington and Lee University in 2001. Jason then went on to receive their Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Screenwriting) from the University of New Orleans in 2005. In 2014, they earned a Master of Science in Data Science from Northwestern University. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate in Advanced Data Science from Northwestern University. In addition, they have obtained four certifications: Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning from Coursera in May 2020, Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow from Coursera in May 2020, Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in June 2016, and Computing for Data Analysis from Coursera Course Certificates in February 2014.
