Regional Information Technology Lead, Middle East & North Africa at Arla

Amer S. has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Amer started their career as a Software Developer at Information Network Services in 2001 and worked there until 2004. Amer then worked as an Application Developer at Creative Sols & Freelance from 2004 to 2005. Amer S. also served as an ERP Developer at Algosaibi Information Systems for a brief period in 2005.

From 2005 onwards, Amer S. joined Arla Foods and held various roles. Amer started as an IT Applications Administrator and later became a Project Lead, leading the development and rollout of a sales automation solution. Amer S. then transitioned to the role of ERP Specialist, followed by IT Business Specialist, where they were responsible for managing ERP systems and supporting business operations.

In 2013, Amer S. was promoted to the position of Manager and Head of Information Technology at Arla Foods. In this role, they had end-to-end ownership of IT services to the business. Amer successfully implemented SAP ERP in Saudi Arabia and Microsoft Dynamics in UAE and Oman to enhance financial insights and reduce inventory waste. Amer S. also led business requirements specification, vendor selection, system architecture, functional design, change management, and rollout.

Currently, Amer S. is serving as the Regional Information Technology Lead for the Middle East & North Africa region at Arla Foods. Amer is driving the digital agenda for digital transformation, utilizing technologies such as SAP S/4 HANA, Analytics, Robotic process automation (RPA), AI-enabled trade spent management, Power platform, and Azure hub, using Scaled Agile framework.

Amer S. obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Osmania University between 1999 and 2001. They also have several additional certifications including Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc., Leading Others from the Leadership Pipeline Institute, Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn, Digital Transformation: From AI and IoT to Cloud, Blockchain and Cybersecurity from MIT Professional Education, Project Management Professional (PMP)® from the Project Management Institute, and ITIL V3 - Service Strategy, RCV, Operation, CSI from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
