Jacob Eapen

Jacob Eapen is a Principal Engineer at Arm, serving since 2013 and acting as the technical lead for Arm R-profile architectures, while also contributing to the development of Arm Scalable Vector Extension (SVE, SVE2) and M-profile architectures. Previously, Jacob held the position of Chief Engineer at Samsung from 2011 to 2013, focusing on DSP, video codecs, firmware development, and algorithm optimization for hardware media accelerators. As Lead Engineer at Ittiam Systems from 2007 to 2011, Jacob worked on various encoders and decoders, firmware for video accelerators, and integration with Android. Jacob began a career as a Senior Engineer at Tata Elxsi from 2004 to 2007, where responsibilities included system integration and optimization of WMV9 Decoder on ARM9 and MIPS. Educationally, Jacob earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
