Phil Madrid

Phil Madrid is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in System IP and SoC level architecture and design, having served as both an individual contributor and in senior leadership roles. Phil began their career as a Design Engineer at Motorola Semiconductor from 1990 to 1995 before becoming a Fellow at AMD, where they led key projects from 1995 to 2012. From 2012 to 2022, Phil directed the System IP teams at the Samsung Austin R&D Center, overseeing RTL, verification, and performance teams. Currently, as the Sr. Director of the Austin System IP team at Arm, Phil continues to influence the field of electrical engineering. Phil earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
