Barry Childe

Barry has over 44 years’ experience since winning the IBM prize aged 13 specialising in High Performance Computing, Grid computing, Cloud, Data fabrics, Virtualisation and Distributed Ledger technology. Prior to joining Arqit in 2018, Barry served as Head of Innovation/Chief Technical Architect at HSBC, Head of HPC Barclays Capital; Head of HPC The Royal Bank of Scotland; CTO VMware; and Head of IT at Westpac, TD Securities and Nordea Bank. Barry is noted as a creator of commercial products such as R3 Corda, We.Trade, VMware. Barry has authored/co-authored books on HPC, Grid & Distributed Computing. Computer Science Ph.D.
