Nathan Bech

Project Engineer at ARRB Systems

Nathan Bech has held a variety of positions in the engineering sector. Nathan began their career in 2010 as a Consultant for Conrail. In 2013, they worked as a Co-op Junior Engineer for Grunley Construction Company, Inc. and then as an Engineering Intern for Thornton Tomasetti in 2014. Nathan was also a Teaching Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at the University of Pittsburgh as a Graduate Student Researcher and Teaching Assistant. During this time, their thesis research focused on characterization of existing asphalt (flexible) pavements using non-destructive testing. Since 2018, they have been a Project Engineer at ARRB Group Inc., where they manage and assists with organization, processing, analysis, and delivery of pavement condition data. Nathan also manages vehicle calibration and assists with data collection planning.

Nathan Bech obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Magna cum Laude in Classical Languages from Carleton College in 2007-2011. Nathan then obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS), Summa cum Laude in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering in 2012-2015. Finally, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Pavement Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering in 2015-2018. Nathan also holds an E.I.T. certification from the State of Pennsylvania.
