Robert Plant is an Associate Professor at the Miami Herbert Business School, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, and Chair of the Department of Business Technology. He teaches technology and strategy at the executive level for clients including IBM, Motorola, Pratt and Whitney, American Express, and other Fortune 500 companies.
His research interests are centered on the future of technology, and the role of information systems in strategic management. He is the author of over 60 peer-reviewed articles in the area of technology for outlets such as Financial Times, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Sloan Management Review, and Harvard Business Review.
Current research projects are centered on the internet of things, labor economics, and the impact of technology on the future of work.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science at The University of Liverpool, England, previously having previously studied computation at Wadham College, Oxford University. Dr. Plant is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Chartered Engineer, and a European Engineer.
