Michael Frank

Michael Frank is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in the motion picture and telecommunications industries. Currently serving as the SVP of ARRI Group and CTO of Camera Systems since January 2020, Michael played a pivotal role in establishing a new standard of image quality with the Alexa 35 camera in 2022. Previously, as Director of Development & Engineering at Leica Camera AG from July 2016 to December 2019, Michael contributed to the company's top ranking in smartphone photography with the MATE 20 Pro through a technology collaboration with Huawei. Michael's prior experience includes serving as Director of the Business Unit Radio Devices at Rohde & Schwarz, where significant advancements in Software Defined Radio technology were achieved, and as Specialist Group Leader at Siemens, where contributions were made to the transition from fixed networks to mobile telephony and VoIP. Michael holds a PhD and a degree in Mathematics from the University of Stuttgart, complemented by an Abitur focusing on Mathematics and Technology.
