Tony’s appointment as CFO in January 2020 was preceded by two years’ service as Arrow’s Group Financial Controller. He is seconded from PetroChina International Australia, which he joined in September 2017.
Tony has spent his working career with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and its subsidiaries. He began with the CNPC Dagang Oilfield Company’s finance department in 1991, in roles that included three years in Pakistan where he was involved with the CPEEC Indus Highway Project no.9.
He joined PetroChina in 2002, spending two years in Indonesia as senior finance manager of seven production-sharing contracts. This was followed by roles at CNPC Exploration & Development Company (CNODC) Home Office and almost six years with CNPC Sudan as finance manager of two subsidiary companies, before returning for a five-year stint as Deputy Director of Finance Department at CNODC’s Home Office, leading its accounting and capital operations.
Tony holds a financial degree from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, China (1989), and an Executive MBA from Nankai University China (2001). He was also a Visiting Scholar to the University of Texas in 2001.
