John Timmer serves as the Science Editor for Ars Technica since 2005, responsible for writing and editing content in the science section. Additionally, John has been a Lecturer at Stony Brook University since 2012 and previously held the position of Instructor at Weill Cornell Medical College from 2005 to 2008. Early in the career, John worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1995 to 2004. Educationally, John earned a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry at Columbia University.
