Technical Project Manager and Division Lead at ARServices

Michael Weaver has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting with their current position at ARServices, they serve as the Technical Project Manager and Division Lead, providing project and program management advice to the Nuclear Technologies Division of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Research and Development Directorate.

Prior to ARServices, Michael worked as a CBRN Countermeasures Analyst at Systems Plus, Inc. from January 2022 to June 2022.

In 2003, Michael was an AAAS/NTI Fellow in Global Security at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency/Cooperative Threat Reduction, focusing on nonproliferation of biological weapons materials and expertise.

Michael also worked as an AAAS/NTI Fellow in Global Security at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cooperative Threat Reduction Policy Office from 2002 to 2003, where they focused on policy-level nonproliferation efforts.

Michael's earlier experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Sainsbury Laboratory, John Innes Centre from 1999 to 2002, where they focused on studying disease resistance in plants, and a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Assistant/Graduate Student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1992 to 1998, where they studied leaf senescence and plant stress responses.

Overall, Michael Weaver has an extensive background in project and program management, biosafety, biosecurity, and international cooperation in the areas of biological threats and research.

Michael Weaver received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Cornell University in 1986. Michael then pursued a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1992 to 1998. In addition to their academic degrees, Michael Weaver also holds several certifications, including the ICAgile Certified Professional from ICAgile, the Professional Certification in Biorisk Management from the International Federation of Biosafety Associations, and the Registered Biosafety Professional from ABSA International.
