Tim Showalter has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Tim is currently serving as the VP of Clinical Development at Artera since November 2021. Previously, they worked at the University of Virginia from 2012 to 2020, starting as an Assistant Professor and later progressing to roles like Professor and Medical Director in the Department of Radiation Oncology. During their time at the university, they also served as the Chair of the Protocol Review Committee for the UVA Cancer Center, responsible for scientific review and monitoring of cancer clinical trials. In 2017, Tim founded and served as the CEO of Advaray, a medical device company focused on cervical cancer brachytherapy. Tim also had roles as a Medical Advisory Board Member at eviCore healthcare and as the Medical Director of Research Oncology at Flatiron Health. Additionally, they worked as a Consultant in Prostate Cancer Medical Affairs at Myovant Sciences and as an Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University.
Tim Showalter attended Monacan High School, although it is unknown when they started and finished. Following their high school education, Tim Showalter enrolled at Washington and Lee University from 1996 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry. Afterward, from 2000 to 2004, they attended the University of Virginia, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine. Tim Showalter then returned to school in 2011, enrolling in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completing their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health in 2014. Currently, Tim Showalter is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst, with an expected completion date between 2020 and 2023.
