Founded in the 1980s, Arthropharm Australia is committed to furthering animal health through the best technology. Arthropharm has been a world leader in osteoarthritis treatments for over 30 years. In order to achieve our aim of improving health through improved technology, Arthropharm heavily invests in the development of new technologies and medicines that improve the quality of life of animals and strengthens the human-animal bond through good medicine.

Arthropharm has pioneered the veterinary development of pentosan polysulfate (PPS) as a disease-modifying osteoarthritis drug under the brand Cartrophen®. In humans, PPS has been registered for >30 years under the brand name Elmiron® and marketed globally as a safe and effective treatment for interstitial cystitis (IC).

Safety has always been at the forefront of our products, particularly with complex and large molecules such as polysaccharides. Of course, efficacy is the cornerstone of our products with clinical studies being carried out in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and USA. Scientific collaboration has been carried out with numerous local and overseas institutions.
