Artis, which was founded by a group of talented artists, highly experienced art conservators and restorers, as well as specialized scientists, aims to provide fully comprehensive services in the domains of artwork creation and conservation, as well as of decoration. Today it’s a pioneering and one of the most dynamic companies in Byzantine gilding and conservation of works of art in southeastern Europe.

The systematic study and recording of traditional techniques, along with the provision of information and updates on the modern trends in methods and artistic materials ensure a result of high aesthetics and unparalleled quality. Crafts like water-gilding and burnishing gild are extremely time-consuming and require distinct labor in order to ensure a flawless result. Nonetheless, the final outcome is impressive and displays excellent endurance over time.

At the same time, the implementation of specialized art conservation works, by qualified and experienced staff, not only requires intricate craftsmanship but also the continuous monitoring of the international scene of this professional field. This is the only way to reinsure the protection and promotion of cultural heritage artworks, as well as the creation of contemporary artifacts of similar magnitude.

Artis operates and evolves within this framework, continuously investing in its human resources, aiming to be staffed by the most qualified, specialized and experienced scientists and craftsmen. At the same time, the company aims to always select and implement the best practical and ethical solutions, individually approaching and studying every project, paying attention to detail and most of all breathing passion, patience and love in this work.
