Arts BC is a provincial non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening British Columbia’s arts and cultural sector.

Founded in 1979 as the Assembly of British Columbia Arts Councils, Arts BC rebranded in 2010 to reflect the growth and evolution of our membership, community, and scope of work. Today, we serve a province-wide network of more than 400 arts councils, culture and heritage organizations, artists, and creative entrepreneurs.

We work to connect arts and cultural workers with the tools, knowledge, and professional opportunities they need to thrive in their roles and practices. Our team brings decades of lived sector experience, and we are deeply committed to working alongside communities to build lasting solutions and advance systems-level change.

Our work is grounded in four core areas:

𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸-𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Connecting people and fostering meaningful partnerships
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆: Championing arts and culture across disciplines, with artists at the centre
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲-𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Supporting peer learning through workshops, forums, research, and resource development
𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Offering practical benefits, including extended health coverage and reduced insurance for non-profits

Across all our programs and initiatives, Arts BC is currently focused on the following priorities:

▪️ Systems Change
▪️ Equity & Access
▪️ Climate
▪️ Sector Recovery & Sustainability

We lead our work with a commitment to openness, integrity, creativity, stewardship, and equity. Arts BC is a hub for connection and collaboration, and we are continually learning, and adapting to better serve the communities we work with across the province.
